Canada 2011

This is in Plattsburgh, New York, just south of the border.

Here is the border between the U.S. and Canada from the American side. Passports are required to pass, but unfortunately they are not stamped.

Here is the bridge to Montréal, with the skyline in the background.

I can't tell if Mighty Mouse is graffiti or a mural, but it does look cool either way.

This bus stop has chairs stacked on top of it. It adds a nice spot of colour to the city.

Here is a nice assortment of flags. Panama, France, Québec, United States, and Canada.

This is the view from Le Méridean, my hotel.

The subway in Montréal is nothing too fancy, but trains run quickly and it is clean. What else does a subway need?

On second thought, the subway is pretty fancy.

Occupy Montréal has some nice flags.

There are lots of fancy cars around like this Rolls-Royce due to frequent weddings.

There's no Canada like French Canada!

This is the Notre-Dame Basilica.

It is difficult to tell what is road and what isn't in parts of the city.

More fancy cars are out for another wedding.

The lampposts look like they're straight out of a Christmas village or fairy tale.

I had never seen a Tesla Roadster before I visited Montréal. For those who don't know, they're 100% electric sports cars.

The next day we visit McGill University's open house.

The campus is beautiful.

There is stained glass in the school.

After visiting the school, we drive home to Philadelphia. It's about an eight hour drive. You don't need to be far from Montréal to be in complete wilderness. But hey--Canada is one of the least densely populated countries in the world.

Goodbye, Canada! I'll miss you!
